On January 10, Phoenix Academy celebrated its Mid-Year Graduation Ceremony, honoring 34 seniors who have achieved their high school diplomas through the academy’s innovative credit recovery program.
Each year, Phoenix Academy helps hundreds of students reclaim their educational paths. With an enrollment of around 200 students annually, the school accounts for a significant portion of the district’s graduates. Last year alone, Phoenix Academy contributed nearly 150 graduates to the district’s total.
For the staff and students of Phoenix Academy, the Mid-Year Graduation is a reminder of what’s possible when students are met with belief, support, and opportunity.

January is School Board Appreciation Month, and throughout the month we are recognizing the dedicated individuals who serve on the School District of Lancaster Board of School Directors.
Today, we’re proud to highlight Katrina Timberlake Holmes, Vice President of the School Board.
A native of Camden, New Jersey, Katrina is a passionate advocate for student success and community well-being. She is the proud mother of three children, two @mccaskeyhighschool graduates and one current McCaskey student. Alongside her husband, Aaron Holmes, she brings a deep personal commitment to education and family growth to her service.
Katrina is a graduate of @hacc_edu , Central Pennsylvania’s Community College and the founder of Engage Inspire Expose, @eng_ins_exp an organization focused on empowering individuals through meaningful engagement, inspiration, and exposure to new opportunities. She also works full-time as an Office Manager, where her leadership, organization, and dedication to excellence are evident every day.
As Vice President of the Board, Katrina brings enthusiasm, lived experience, and a strong belief in the potential of every student. We are grateful for her leadership and service to the School District of Lancaster.
