Together we can

Partnering with our communities of faith

SDoL knows that there is an abundance of compassion and resourcefulness in our community, especially among our faith-based organizations, and we believe that these kinds of cross-sector partnerships can truly work to best serve our students and their families.

The fingerprint of our faith communities can be seen across our district. Just a few examples are:

Mornings on Orange Street (MOOS)

MOOS is a before-school enrichment program provided by Community Mennonite and Covenant United Methodist Churches. MOOS provides a safe, fun and nurturing place for students from Robert Fulton Elementary School in the morning before school opens. MOOS contributes to the sense of self-respect, ability to build relationships and quality of life of children in the surrounding neighborhood.

SWAN 4 Kids

SWAN: Scaling Walls a Note at a Time is a support group for children affected by parental incarceration and provides free music lessons, ensemble training, performance opportunities and mentoring.
